Polaroid Transfers
This body of work explores the combination of photography and printmaking. Transforming some of his mother's old photographic slides, Frank used a slide printer and polaroid film to create "transfers" by removing the back of the polaroid and placing the emulsion directly on 8" x 11" watercolor paper. Pulling the two apart before the emulsion could dry completely, Frank was able to create transfers that emphasize abstraction over realism.
